The United Arab Emirates has rolled out a document-free, AI-driven immigration corridor at Dubai International Airport (DXB). This system lets travelers clear border checks in seconds by simply walking through a designated path.
Passport-Free Passage
The UAE introduced a groundbreaking, AI-powered passenger corridor at DXB to allow registered travelers to bypass traditional immigration lines entirely. Launched under the “Travel Without Borders” program, this marks a major evolution toward travel without any paper documentation.

Instead of waiting at counters or stopping at smart gates, passengers walk along a dedicated route, often referred to as the “red carpet.” The system uses facial recognition and pre-registered biometric data to confirm identities.
This biometric check eliminates the need for passports and paper documents. A traveler’s identity is verified in as little as 6 to 14 seconds.

Speed and Security
This AI system is designed for high-efficiency travel. It allows up to 10 passengers to move through the area simultaneously, greatly speeding up the process compared to the old one-by-one checks.
Artificial intelligence confirms traveler data and cross-references information before the passenger reaches the physical checkpoint. If the system detects any irregularities or security concerns, it instantly flags those cases for a human expert to review. This method maintains high security standards while dramatically reducing airport congestion.
Where to Find It
This quick passage is currently operating in Terminal 3’s First and Business Class lounges. Plans are underway to expand the service, making it available to more travelers and terminals soon. This development solidifies Dubai’s position as a global leader in using technology to create faster and smoother travel experiences.
