Great news for budget flyers! Starting September 6th, JetBlue’s Blue Basic fare now includes a free carry-on bag for all travelers, regardless of when they purchased their ticket. Previously, a carry-on required a higher fare or an Even More Space seat.
And that’s not all! (or Even better!) All JetBlue fares, including Blue Basic, come with signature perks: most legroom in coach, seatback entertainment on every seat, and free, unlimited Fly-Fi on all flights.
In rare cases, due to full overhead bins, your carry-on might be checked at the gate (free of charge). Don’t worry, you’ll still have it on arrival. Just remember size and weight limits still apply, so check those at JetBlue to avoid any unexpected fees.
If you’re traveling light, the Blue Basic fare might be ideal! But if you prioritize overhead bin space and flexibility, consider upgrading to the Blue fare, JetBlue’s second-lowest option. Blue offers perks like free advance seat selection, allowing you to choose your spot early and avoid the last-minute rush. Plus, you get more flexibility to change or cancel your flight without fees (though a fare difference may apply).
Blue Basic keeps things budget-friendly, but remember you’ll board last, and cancellation fees apply. Ultimately, the choice depends on your travel priorities. Blue Basic is a solid pick if a great price and some flexibility with carry-on space are key. However, the Blue fare offers valuable peace of mind for guaranteed overhead space and the ability to change plans easily.
